Imagine an on-site power system that uses only the free fuel of wasted heat to generate electrical power, day and night, all year long. Now imagine that the same core heat engine technology can also be used to capture energy from the exhaust gas stream of off-grid diesel generators, improving fuel efficiency by 5% to 10% and offering potential annual rates of return of 100%. This is the reality being created by Cool Energy through the application of its advanced power conversion technology, the ThermoHeart® Engine, to provide on-site generation capability to its customers. This power conversion device, which is an advanced-materials Stirling engine, has been developed, built, tested and sold since 2006 by Cool Energy, Inc of Boulder, CO and has demonstrated high conversion efficiency and operating reliability.
